About the Program:
Explore your future in health, biological, or chemical sciences with Kenjgewin Teg’s Pre-Health Sciences Pathways program. Through hands-on lab experiences and a supportive learning environment, you’ll develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills. Graduates are prepared to pursue programs such as practical nursing, paramedic, pharmacy technician, and more.

Program Highlights:

  • Online (HyFlex) delivery lets you study full-time or part-time with the option to attend classes on campus, online, or a combination of both
  • Courses cover English, Math, and Science
  • Strong foundation for entry into Cambrian’s limited-enrolment health sciences programs
  • Support and mentorship from professors
  • Access to all of Cambrian’s free student services
  • Grads who continue into another full-time Cambrian program have a high degree of success

Graduates may pursue health sciences degrees and diplomas in areas such as:

  • Paramedic

  • Practical Nursing

  • Physiotherapy Assistant

  • Massage Therapy

  • Dental Hygiene

  • Fitness & Health Promotion

  • Medical Laboratory Assistant or Technology

  • Medical Radiation Technology

BIO 1003 – Biology I

CHM 1106 – Science Chemistry I

ENG 1006 – Technical Reading & Writing (Health Science)

MTH 1113 – Pre Health Math I

HEA 1081 – Introduction to Medical Terminology and Health Professions

PHY 1031 – Health Science Physics I or 1 General Education course

Semester 2:

BIO 1010 – Biology II

CHM 1002 – Physical Chemistry

CHM 1003 – Organic and Biological Chemistry

ENG 1121 – Research & Writing/Health Sciences

MTH 1213 – Advanced Pre-Health Math

HEA 1082 – Professionalism and Ethics in Health Careers

PHY 1002 – Health Science Physics II or 1 General Education course

Admission Requirements:
For graduates of the new curriculum (OSSD): Ontario Secondary School Diploma (30 credits) or equivalent or mature student status, including:

  • Any Grade 12 English; Any Grade 11 Mathematics
  • Link to Manitoulin Island or Kenjgewin Teg Member Communities
  • Connection to Kenjgewin Teg philosophies

Other: Graduates from this program will have obtained the necessary prerequisites to apply to all Health Sciences programs offered at Cambrian.
If you are a graduate of this program, you may continue your studies at a college or university, and you may receive credit(s) for your prior college education.
Once you choose a stream (synchronous online or in-person), you have to remain in this stream.
