About the Program:
The Personal Support Worker (PSW) Living Classroom Program combines classroom learning with real-world experience in a long-term care or retirement home. Students complete most coursework online, with one day per week of in-person learning at the Living Classroom site. This unique model supports workforce development in senior living while preparing you to provide compassionate, client-centred care. Graduates receive an Ontario College Certificate and are ready for meaningful careers in long-term care, community care, hospice care, and beyond.

(265-hour clinical placement)

Additional Training Provided: 

  • First Aid and CPR
  • Mask fit testing
  • Gentle Persuasive Approaches (GPA)

Admission Requirements:
OSSD or equivalent, ENG 4C or ENG 4U

If English is not your first language, an English competency test may be required.

Non-Academic Requirements:

  • TB Testing, hepatitis B immunization
  • CPIC/VS (required before admissions and before clinical)
  • Mask Fit Testing, WHMIS, CPR/First Aid
  • A yearly flu shot may be a requirement
